Butterfly Belyanka Eifema

Scientific name: Zegris eupheme. The Eupheme white is a mealy-white butterfly with a yellowish bloom and a black spot in the middle. The forewings have an orange-yellow or reddish spot. The lower wings have a greenish marble pattern.

Zegris short-haired is found in the south of the European part of Russia, the Southern Urals, in Asia Minor and Central Asia, Spain, and Iran. Lives in the steppe areas, feeds on the flowers of spring plants, as well as all types of whites.

This butterfly flies from April to the end of May. The caterpillar is thick, with a short body and long hairs. In the south it feeds on mustard. The pupa hibernates.
