Volnyanka — one of the most sinister tree pests and often cause irreparable damage to forestry, especially during outbreaks of mass reproduction. There are about 2,700 known species in the world wavelets. Butterfly medium size, legs short and hairy with spurs.
TO Volnyanka refers to the gypsy moth. The name "gypsy moth" butterfly received for strong differences between males and females. Males (wingspan 45 mm) are much smaller than females (wingspan 75 cm). They also differ in color: the male is darker than the female.
