Scientific name: Pontia daplidice. Very variable and regularly migratory. Belyankaflies to North Africa in autumn. The length of the front wing is about 25 mm. The butterfly has prominent veins and a few dark spots at the corners of the wings. The spring generation is smaller than the summer butterflies.
It is found throughout Europe, but only in warm places. They live on plains, sometimes on hilly terrain, as well as in fields, pastures, forest edges, clearings and country roads. In the mountains it rises up to 2000 m.
The butterfly has two generations - from June to July and from July to August. The first generation is small. The caterpillar is light green with black dots and yellow stripes on the sides. It feeds on cabbage, mustard, peas, clover, yellow mignonette, etc.
The pupa of Belyanka is rapeseed green or gray-green in color, with black dots and yellowish stripes on the abdomen. The pupa hibernates.
