Information collected by scientists about life Lepidoptera butterflies talk about their very complex interesting behavior. There are, for example, migratory species that annually “move” closer to warmth for the winter, making a journey of thousands of kilometers. The unusually entertaining mating dances of butterflies are described.

Poisonous butterflies and species that imitate them are also known. Large and highly visible insects, butterflies, of course, are a delicacy for many animals and therefore are forced to resort to a variety of methods of protection.
Some of them are perfectly camouflaged, "painting" their wings to match the environment and imitating the structure of the bark of a tree, tree lichens. Some take the form of inanimate objects - moth caterpillars, for example, can easily turn into a short knot on a tree branch.
Other butterflies, on the contrary, either have a very bright color that scares off enemies, or imitate stinging wasps or bees. Still others may be camouflaged at rest, but if they are disturbed, how butterfly spreads the front wings, and bright spots-eyes of the hind wings suddenly appear in front of the enemy wings. Such a distracting or stunning effect often saves the insect life.
