The scientific name of this butterfly is Satyrinae. Belongs to the subfamily of diurnal butterflies. Velvet looks very modest. Small in size (wingspan 42-48 cm), painted in brown and red colors, velvety. Usually with light eyes, rarely white with a black pattern.
Habitat
It lives in moist coniferous forests, loves shade. Can be found along forest roads or clearings. The caterpillar of the Marigold is large, feeds on wild cereals and other cultivated plants.
