Belyanka alpine

The scientific name of the Alpine white is Pontia callidice. A daytime butterfly, grayish in color, males have a dark border with elongated white spots on top. Lives high in the Alps, in the Caucasus, in Siberia. Butterflies from the northern part of the range have a darker pattern than those from the southern steppe regions.

The caterpillar of Alpine Belyanka is bluish-green in color with yellow and black stripes along the body. The head is gray with black dots and with a symmetrical V-shaped line. It feeds on cruciferous plants, for example, jaundice, rapeseed.
